Hardware – Upgrading a Graphics Card

ExtremeTech has a good article with tips concerning upgrading a graphics Card.

One tip that I haven't seen in the article is to replace the fan that comes with the card, from experience and advice, the stock cards are bottom of the barrel, inefficient, noisy and cheap. Replacement fans aren't expensive, and are highly recommended if you're really splashing out on a new card.

CSS – Styling Forms

Found a great resource listing different articles and tutorials on how to style HTML forms using CSS.

Google Maps – Remove Bubble

One problem I have come across when using the google maps iFrame in a small div is the bubble pop up. It looks fine for a large map, but when space is a problem it causes the map to scroll to fit in the bubble which is unnecessary at times. To fix this, paste

iwloc=near&addr&

into the iframe code and the bubble dissappears! This information was found here

Web Development – Developing from a PS design

I mentioned previously that sixrevisions.com gave a good tutorial on how to create the Web 2.0 look in photoshop. They've now followed up on that article with a tutorial on how to code it in CSS and XHTML.

One concern about this tutorial is the heavy reliance on images for the design rather than CSS.

PHP – Time and Date

I always find server time gives me little headache due to abbreviations and time zones. Here's a simple article that shows the simple ways to format the date and time.
